Ecuador: Waorani Cultural Immersion Experience

PURPOSE: Join us for this unique cultural immersion experience during which you will experience and participate in all aspects of Huaorani/Woarani village life and their cultural traditions and activities. During the trip we will discuss the effect of being dependent on others for our day to day needs and how this can apply to the way we think and do missions.
COST: $1500 plus round trip airfare from St. Louis to Quito, Ecuador. $1500 fee covers all expenses while in Ecuador and includes: meals, lodging, transportation and all activities. Cost does not included required vaccinations or passport.

Requirements
Prerequisites
- Participants will need to pass a background check, obtain a current passport and receive the required vaccines for Ecuador.
Responsibilities
- Participants will be involved in serving the indigenous of the community and participating in their cultural activities. Participants will be sharing religious activities with the Christians in the community.
Restrictions
- Participants must be Christian, at least 18 years of age, in good health, able to walk at a brisk place on uneven ground for 25 minutes, do not have any major physical or mental disabilities due to remote location and lack of immediate medical service.
Preparation
- Participants are required to raise the following funds: $1500 trip fee, cost of roundtrip ticket from St. Louis to Quito, Ecuador (and roundtrip to St. Louis if not from St. Louis), background check fee and required vaccinations.
